David picked up his first camera around 1982. And then over the years he practiced nature and portrait photography, including the developing of photographs in a darkroom which, tends to be a lost art in the age of digital technology.
David eventually became interested in medium format film photography and doing a lot of portrait photography. At one point he set photography aside taking a 15 year break before picking it up again. This is when he started learning about the digital photography world as well as digital editing.
When not taking photographs David works with TrueSelf as an outreach worker. It is not unusual to see David walking the downtown streets of North Bay and offering aid to the ‘at risk’ population. Often while on these walks David will take a quick moment to capture the beautiful scenes nature provides.
